As our knowledge of the impact of the correct acoustics in different environments grows it is no surprise that the education sector is one area where you can’t afford to be complacent.
At SDG we know that insufficient acoustic absorption can have a detrimental impact on the ability of a student to focus and learn in an educational environment.
Our clients McAdam Design, HSU Construction and Tracey Bros understand this, and engaged with us at the early stages of construction of St Patricks Academy in Dungannon.
SDG manufactured bespoke panels to the architects designs which enhanced the aesthetics of the large open plan areas as well as managing the acoustic vibrations that an area like this can create.
The panels came in various shapes and sizes but were all designed with the intention of creating a comfortable space to congregate in for the schools students.
Ciaran Donnelly, Head of Technical at SDG explained, “We have a strong relationships with McAdam, HSU Construction and Tracey Bros Ltd and it was great to be able to build on that at St Patrick’s Academy. Our ability to offer solutions and innovative products to our clients is borne from our desire to enhance the spaces we work in and our inquisitiveness when looking to new products for the markets we work in. We are always learning ourselves and this allows us to be a better partner to our customers.”

SDG have always gone above and beyond for us. With SDG’s technical support our team have the ability to use the most effective and innovative solutions to improve quality, save time and perform more effectively.
I spoke to Ciaran Donnelly and after a few subsequent drawings emailed back and forth we agreed on the detail. SDG had the assembly on site within 3 days and saved us a lot of time on site with cutting and welding. We were able to lower the assembly into place in one piece with no concerns. I would most definitely engage in this service again.
