PROJECT SUMMARY
A welcomed economic and touristic boost to Castlewellan, Co. Down, saw Leo Matheson Ltd complete the new Hillyard Guesthouse and Restaurant.
The work included a refurbishment of an existing building to incorporate the formation of a courtyard restaurant, kitchen, bar, spacious mezzanine level and major internal alterations to the existing structure for guest accommodation.
THE CHALLENGE
During the build, Leo Matheson Limited contacted SDG as they had an issue with noise in the guest bedrooms emanating from the onsite generator and fans.
We were supplied with the building plans and conducted a site survey. We liaised closely with our manufacturer partner Isomass, who were able to complete fully indemnified designs to eliminate the noise issues.
OUR SOLUTION
Isowave 23 for ceilings: which was fixed to the ceilings with acoustic batons. This was used to reduce the noise from a generator which was causing issues in the guest bedrooms.
Isocheck Re-Mat Base: an acoustic floor rubber which was installed in each bedroom, reducing the sound transmission effects from the bedroom floors to the floors in the bars and restaurant.
Both acoustic treatments greatly reducing the sound transmission effects throughout the building
THE RESULTS
Isowave benefits include: excellent absorption properties that is a versatile system that can be used in refurbishments or new buildings
Isocheck Re-Mat Base include: reduces sound impact transmission through all types of structural concrete floors.
