Insitex Architectural Formwork Liners
SDG have been a proud supplier of key formwork products to the £220m A6 Dualling scheme. This significant investment in Northern Irelands infrastructure, will see the construction of 22.5 kilometers of new dual carriageway between Dungiven and Drumahoe.
The project is being delivered by Sacyr Wills Bros Somague JV and is scheduled for completion in the Spring of 2022.
SDG were talked with propping suitable architectural formwork liner system, capable of imprinting in-situ and precast concrete elements with an aesthetically pleasing pattern.
The scale of the project meant that multiple structures would be being placed and poured at any one time, so a fast and efficient solution was key.
We proposed the use of Max Frank Insitex formwork liners, as a low cost means of applying an appealing patterned finish to the concrete structures. Manufactured from PVC, the formwork liners are lightweight and easy to install – improving construction speed and reducing valuable man-hours on site.

- Cost-effective for small to medium applications
- Can be easily stripped with use of a release agent
- Repeat usage is possible, up to 5 times
We supplied the formwork liner to Macrete for use with their precast concrete elements, and for site for Sub-Contractor McNally Bros to use with bridge structures. Site team found Insitex fast and efficient to work with due to its light weight design, and ease of trimming.
SDG’s knowledge and experience was welcomed throughout the project. We provided close on-site technical backup, along with continuous material selection advice.
Throughout the project we offered on-site technical back up, along with next day delivery of all key materials. We worked together in partnership with site to ensure materials were installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s installation instructions.
